Aqui Con El Nene is the story of one familia's flavors finding a home in Tucson. What started as a food truck has grown into two beloved locations — and the food has never stopped tasting like it was made for you.
From Ciudad Obregón to Tucson
Salvador Gastelum grew up in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora — a city with a deep, proud tradition of open-fire cooking and bold Sonoran flavors. He brought those roots north to Tucson, honing his craft at Guero Canelo and BK's before launching his own operation.
The dishes that define us
The Taco Yaqui — green chile, meat, cheese, bacon, and mushroom — became an instant signature. The Papancha and the Sonoran hot dog round out El Nene's most beloved flavors.

El Nene won Best Tacos in Tucson at Mero Mero Taquero, earned a Tucson Weekly feature, and earned an Arizona Daily Star readers' pick. The Sonoran hot dog competed nationally on Every Day with Rachael Ray.
Still growing, still familia
Today El Nene serves Tucson at Valencia and Flowing Wells. Regulars have been coming back for over 15 years — the salsa bar and warm welcome are always waiting.
